CDCP: Your Voice at the Table

CDHA has worked hard to represent the interests of dental hygienists and their clients over the past year during the launch and expansion of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). We've been at the table with Health Canada as a valued contributor to the plan's design and rollout. Watch the latest update on our efforts in an interview with CDHA’s president, Alexandra Sheppard, and manager of professional practice, Donna Wells. CDHA remains steadfast in its advocacy efforts with Health Canada to ensure the CDCP meets the needs of both clients and dental hygienists.

Client Code of Conduct

Data from the 2023 Healthy & Respectful Workplace Survey (français) showed that 6 in 10 dental hygienists experienced and/or witnessed mistreatment in the workplace. Respondents noted higher levels of mistreatment from clients, with 26% personally experiencing it and 30% witnessing it. As a result, CDHA has developed a Code of Conduct document (français) for patients/clients to sign and a Code of Conduct poster (français) for display. These resources are available in the Healthy & Respectful Workplace section of our website and can be customized to your office needs.
