"Enhanced" and "Basic" insurance options
CDHA offers the following professional liability insurance options for Active membership:

Basic insurance includes professional liability insurance in the amount of $2 million
per claim / $5 million aggregate

Enhanced insurance includes professional liability insurance in the amount of $3
million per claim /$5 million aggregate– at an
additional cost of $25 per policy period
CDHA also offers $5 million per claim/$5 million aggregate. If you require this higher amount of

Membership Year
The membership year runs from November 1 to October 31. If your membership includes professional liability
insurance,
the policy runs from January 1 to December 31. If you pay mid-year, your policy start date will be your
purchase date.
Membership Payment Options
Autorenewal: Making Membership Renewal Easy
Autorenewal is a convenient option that will automatically process your membership dues on an annual
basis.* You can select a one-time payment (September 20) or a two
monthly installment payment (August 20 and September 20).** Just set it and forget
it!
If you’d like to enroll, simply update your online profile.
You can change your autorenewal preferences at any time. As fees could differ slightly each year, CDHA will
communicate the new fee amounts via email a minimum of 7 days before your preferred payment date.
*Sales tax varies by province/territory and is not applied to professional
liability insurance (PLI). The rates are:
BC/AB/SK/MB/NU/NT/YT: 5% GST; ON: 13% HST; QC: 5% GST and 9.975% QST; NB/NS/PE/NL and outside Canada:
15% HST. Retail
sales tax on PLI is subsidized and will be remitted by CDHA to the designated broker as required. In
addition,
membership dues are not eligible for the First Nations sales tax exemption.
**Note: If the payment date does not fall on a business day, the payment will be processed
the next business day.
