Professional Practice Advisor (Full-time, hybrid or remote)

The Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) is looking for an experienced dental hygienist to join our dedicated staff team full-time as a professional practice advisor.

As a member of CDHA’s dental hygiene practice team and reporting to the departmental director, the professional practice advisor’s role is to provide guidance and support to members to optimize their clinical practice and patient care, with an emphasis on supporting dental hygienists who are interested in or are currently practising independently. The advisor will recommend and develop practice supports and resources. They will assess current practices, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to assist members in providing quality dental hygiene care. The advisor will also provide education, training, and resources to support members in their practice.

The position involves an understanding of dental hygiene practices, regulations, industry standards, ethics, and business issues in all Canadian jurisdictions.

A minimum of 10 years of recent experience in dental hygiene (e.g., clinical practice, public health, education, etc.) is required in addition to a diploma or degree in dental hygiene, preferably from an accredited dental hygiene program, and an active certificate of registration/licence to practise in good standing with a Canadian dental hygiene regulatory body. Bilingualism (English and French) and prior experience with ownership or work in an independent practice setting will be considered assets.

As a qualified candidate, besides the above requirements, you love to speak with and assist your peers, primarily by phone or online and occasionally at in-person events. You are well-organized with excellent time-management skills. You believe in delivering top-notch customer service and are comfortable doing so from a desk and working at a computer daily.

CDHA offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The salary range for this position is between $73,910 and $92,387; remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This is an indeterminate, hybrid or remote work position with a minimum work week of 37.5 full-time hours, Monday through Friday; occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
